Who we are

Supporting Children’s mental health, when it matters most. Because no child should have to wait when they need help now.

Elemie Rose Wainwright – Forever 11.

On 12th June 2025, at just 11 year’s old, Elemie’s bright, beautiful life was tragically cut short in a road traffic accident. In that single, heartbreaking moment, the world lost a light that can never be replaced.

Elemie filled every day with laughter, warmth and love. She had an adventurous soul, a fearless curiosity, and a rare gift for finding beauty in the smallest things. Her joy was infectious, her heart pure, and her presence made everyday and everyone feel lighter. One thing Elemie stood for was ‘kindness’

Elemie’s kindness was effortless- she made everyone feel seen, loved and included. With the biggest heart and the warmest smile, she cared deeply for others and always chose kindness in every moment. Her love continues to ripple through everyone who knew her, inspiring us all to be a little kinder, just like Elemie…Be More Elemie.

Be More Elemie has been created to turn unimaginable loss into lasting purpose. To support children and young people with their mental health, emotional wellbeing, resilience, and sense of belonging- causes that mattered deeply to Elemie.

Founded In 2025, Be More Elemie, created in loving memory of a beautiful girl, Elemie Rose Wainwright. A girl who had the rare gift of always going out of her way to help others, making everyone feel seen, included, and valued. Her kindness, warmth and compassion are at the heart of everything ‘Be More Elemie’ stands for. Elemie’s kindness created a ripple effect, and through Be More Elemie, we hope that kindness continues to spread.

Everything we strive to achieve is guided by Elemie and the values she lived every single day;

our mission

Be More Elemie

The mission of Be More Elemie is to improve and protect the mental health and emotional wellbeing of children by increasing access to timely and appropriate mental health support.

Be More Elemie exists to address the significant delays faced by children and families in accessing mental health services, particularly in Sheffield, where waiting lists for support can extend for years. These delays disproportionately affect families who are unable to afford private therapy, leaving children without the urgent care they need at critical points in their development.

Be More Elemie seeks to bridge this gap by funding access to private mental health therapy and early intervention services for children whose families cannot afford to pay for treatment. By doing so, the charity aims to prevent deterioration in children’s mental health, reduce long-term harm, and promote positive outcomes for children and their families.

Be More Elemie is founded on the principle that access to mental health support should be fair and equitable, and that no child’s wellbeing should be determined by financial circumstance. Through its work, Be More Elemie strives to ensure that children are supported, valued, and able to receive help when it is needed most.

Children and young people experience mental health difficulties.

(*NHS England / YoungMinds)

Children’s mental health can’t wait.

Too many children are struggling, and support often comes far too late.
In recent years, more children than ever are facing mental health challenges. Long waiting lists mean families are often left watching their child struggle without support. Without early help, these challenges can grow, affecting a child’s confidence, education, relationships, and long-term wellbeing.

Be More Elemie exists to bridge that gap — providing help when it’s needed most.
Early support saves lives.

When children receive the right mental health support at the right time, it can change the course of their future.
